Keep the dashboard short
Choose a few frequently used controls, such as room lighting or a shared timer. Put them in predictable positions and use clear room names. Avoid filling the first screen with graphs or rarely used settings just because the software makes them available.
Separate personal information
Review notifications, photos, email access and saved passwords before leaving a tablet in a shared room. Use a supported restricted mode or separate account where appropriate. Keep a recovery method available to the owner, but do not place administrator credentials on the public dashboard.
Plan the physical setup
Use a stable stand and a compatible charger with cables out of walkways. Follow the device’s guidance for heat, charging and long-term use; do not trap it in an unventilated enclosure. Retain ordinary switches so the household can still use essential devices if the tablet is unavailable.
