Observe before adjusting
For several days, note when rooms feel comfortable and when they are unused. Record the current settings rather than changing every time block immediately. Heating response depends on the building and equipment, so a timetable alone cannot promise a particular saving.
Change one period
Choose one predictable part of the week, such as a regular absence, and adjust it within the system’s recommended limits. Check the result when you return. Large changes may not suit your building or household, especially where moisture, vulnerable occupants or frost protection need consideration.
Make exceptions easy
Learn the temporary override and holiday controls. A useful schedule should accommodate a day at home without requiring every saved setting to be rewritten. Explain the controls to everyone using the heating, and retain manufacturer-required protection functions.
