Draw the view
Stand at the proposed mounting position and consider where a visitor’s face and a delivered parcel would appear. Steps, a narrow recess or a side wall may obstruct the view. Do not assume an extra-wide lens solves every angle; check the model’s mounting options.
Resolve installation first
Identify whether the device is battery powered or requires a specified wired supply. Do not connect it to an existing doorbell circuit just because the wires fit. For electrical changes, use qualified help. In rented or shared buildings, agree mounting and shared-area use with the responsible parties.
Try the everyday workflow
Check how notifications reach household members, whether a chime works without a phone and what recording requires a subscription. Limit the view of neighbouring or public areas and review applicable privacy rules. Plan how to charge or remove the device without leaving the entrance inconvenient to use.
